Associate

Julia Mikolajczak is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice. She represents businesses, institutions, and individuals in a wide array of civil litigation, with a focus on contract, employment, healthcare, and complex tort matters. She has experience in state and federal courts at both the trial court and appellate levels. Her current work includes defending companies against discrimination, retaliation, and product liability/toxic tort lawsuits, resolving high-stakes non-compete and intellectual property disputes, and defending against defamation claims. She commonly represents healthcare and educational institutions, and she regularly handles matters with significant commercial exposure.

As part of Julia's litigation practice, she is also experienced in handling lawsuits under New York's Election Law. Most notably, Julia was part of the litigation team that prevailed in defending a challenge to recent amendments to the Election Law, including provisions allowing for mail-in ballots, which was decided by the New York Court of Appeals.

Before joining Hodgson Russ, Julia served as a summer law clerk with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York, where she worked on criminal, civil, and appellate matters. During law school, she also worked as a student attorney in several of Cornell Law School’s immigration-focused clinics.
