Nathan W. G. Berti
Nate serves as the firm’s Managing Partner. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day management of the firm and the execution of its strategic plan. Nate also leads the firm’s efforts to strengthen client relationships, grow its client base, and maintain its culture.
Nate is a second-generation trusts and estates lawyer, concentrating his law practice on all aspects of trusts and estates law. He has helped a wide range of clients construct complex estate plans, often with a multi-generational, tax-minimization, multi-jurisdictional, and creditor-protection focus. Nate also has counseled fiduciaries and beneficiaries on all aspects of trust and estate administration, including contested matters.
Many of Nate’s clients have considered him an outside “general counsel” and have sought his guidance on a variety of legal matters. If Nate is not the right person to handle a particular matter, he collaborates with others to get his clients the best possible advice.
Nate is known for taking a concierge approach to his law practice. He regularly meets with clients outside the normal workday and travels to their residences, social clubs, and more. Nate recognizes that his clients are busy people and makes every effort to accommodate their schedules.
Admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey, Nate divides his time between the firm’s New York City and Buffalo offices.
